Day 6: Finally!!!

This day sure took a long time to happen didn’t it. Well, due to circumstances beyond my control I ended up taking the time off the gym late last week and it carried into this week. Needless to say I was off the creatine and the clear muscle during this time. Got back at it today. I am still on vacation so hit the gym this morning. Once again, the routine had me sweating good. Truth be told in some cases I did more reps.

I have been watching videos from Jeff Cavaliere; Athlean-X for some time now. He has some really good ideas/techniques. One such video I put to the test today. I will fess up and tell you that I struggled big time but I did it.

DAY 5 of my 12 week challenge (power)

Alright folks… this Wednesday routine has me feeling all sorts of weird. Not many exercises. I feel like I am cheating. Today I was supposed to do 50% of my 1 Rep Max… it certainly didn’t feel like it’s enough weight. Anyway I roll with the punches I guess. today it dawned on me that I didn’t plan this challenge out too well. I am on vacation next week! I can’t see myself working out at all.. I will have to try to figure something out. Otherwise this 12 challenge will be somewhat tainted.

I wrote this post while doing 30 mins cardio. The guilt was too much.

PS: even with the low amount of exercises and the 3min rest in between I still had my sweat on. That’s a good thing.

Day 3 of my 12 Week Challenge

Alright so here’s today’s routine; strength day.

You’ll understand why I couldn’t do this yesterday sore as I was. Here’s the thing… the membership at my gym is ridiculously low so to no surprise it is almost always packed. Today was one of those days. For me to ensure that I stick to the recommended rest times I am forced to move to exercises that are available to me rather than wait. That means, like today, I don’t do the exercises in order. I might have paid a small price today as I tweaked something in my lower back by doing deadlifts followed right after by the bent over rows. I felt something on my last set. Serenity now! Looks like tomorrow may have to be a rest day.

Is Herbalife the Amway of the Fitness Industry?

I figured change it up a little. Won’t always just post about my challenge. So I follow this person on Instagram. She’s a local gal who is a fitness instructor representing Herbalife. I have to admit that I enjoy her insta stories because of he personality. She’s incredibly positive and clearly a go getter. So much so that at times I get the urge of reaching out to her to see if she can train me. The hesitation? Well, I get this impression that the Herbalife business model is like Amway. Something I tried many, many years ago and failed terribly at. I just worry that even if I make it clear all I want is a trainer that eventually or maybe continually there will be an effort to try to pull me fully in. Know what I mean? Anyway, for now I just continue to enjoy her positive outlook on life while being disturbed by the amount of herbalife supplements she ingests per day.

The Struggle Was Real!

I struggled all day over whether I should gym it or not tonight. The reason I struggled with this was that I actually also struggled getting out of bed this morning because of how sore I am. I felt like an old man. I can’t remember the last time I felt so sore so in a way this is a good thing. Tonight’s routine looked to be super intense so I made the decision given my soreness that I would not be able to go at it at 100% so it wouldn’t be right to waste a opportunity. Tomorrow morning I will go at it full force. I did remember to take photos this morning so here we go:

I think u get the gist of what I am looking to fix from this 12 week challenge. Of course I do realize that it’s not just about what happens at the gym. It’s also about what I put in my stomach. I am watching myself.

Week 1: Day 2 of my 12 week challenge

Alright so I said I would post a photo and well I won’t. Forgot to take it this morning. I think it’s best to take right out of bed. I set a reminder for tomorrow morning. In the meantime here’s today’s session:

Pretty short eh? So today was heavy day hence the low amount of exercises. I am actually writing this as I do my cardio.

Yesterday’s workout has me all sorts of sore which made today pretty interesting. Especially the deadlifts. Given the sore lower back and the heavy weight it felt like I was going to shit myself or at the very least lay a fart.. Just because you are plugged in listening to music and u fart doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Am I right? Lol. Thankfully it didn’t happen!

Anyway these routines are meant to be done every other day and clearly I am not doing that. Reason being is that I can’t control when I get my migraines so I take advantage of every chance I can.. Certainly I will try to mix it up but if all is clear I will Gym it.

Week 1: Day 1 of my 12 week challenge

While I have been training regularly (barring migraines) I haven’t been doing a good job blogging. Well, that will now change. I just got my hands on ‘clear muscle’ from muscletech.

I make It sound like it’s some illegal product but it isn’t. I am supposed to take 6 capsules a day split between breakfast, lunch and prior training. They also recommend that we follow their 12 week challenge. The routines are layed out for you on their site http://www.muscletech.ca/trainhard. It’s fantastic. I don’t have to worry about having to come up with my own routines.

It was a pretty intense session. Loved it. Looking forward to tomorrow’s session. Stay tuned.

Time Change = Migraine?

You know summer is around the corner because lately the gym has been a disaster !! I find myself waiting for everything. The gym isn’t big to begin with and the free weights area is like sardine city. So annoying. I usually work out between 5-7pm but on Tuesday I got so fed up I decided I need to go later. Yesterday I got there for 7pm. It was a gorgeous day so I actually walked to the gym, did my work out and walked back home. The experience was much better. It was less packed. I am not sold on it yet because it was a gorgeous day and before the long weekend. Outside of the walking portion, my routine was not any different then any other time. This morning I awoke with a massive migraine. I don’t get it. I actually got up to take aleve @230am and had to take two more just now. It’s Good Friday but not for me right now. Hoping this migraine is short lived as I don’t want to lose the entire day to this shit!
